My business resolution, is to do more blogging. I want to keep you readers more interested, intrigued, excited, shocked, alert, obsessed, aware, and keeping on coming back! Yes...that was plain, general speaking-type english...haha.
Something happened last fall...or summer, that I dont think I officially told many of you about. My favorite man in the world (second to my Dad), and I got ENGAGED! Yes, I am getting MARRIED :) So....a little about us. We met (online) in April, 2005. Both of us had created online profiles as jokes. I was in highschool and had 2 out of 5 classes as spares. I needed a time-filler. He said he joined as a joke too, to see if the site could stir up any interests. Long story short....I saw a pic of him and his way-cool car (a 1979 Thunderbird), and I was immediately intrigued. I told him I liked his car. That is when our relationship began. We became GF and BF on April 15, 2005. We moved very quickly, fell in love very fast, and have been living "happily" ever after ever since. I honestly couldnt ask for more in a man. I still...after almost 5 years, find out new things about him all the time. We have already been through smiley times, and crying times, rich times, and poor times, better times and harder times. Since meeting Landon, I wouldnt choose to be with any other person through any of those moments.
In August, he proposed to me. We were at the lake (Crooked Lake), spending a mini vacation at his parents cabin. We went fishing one evening. I took a mojito, he probably took a beer. He quit fishing earlier than usual. I was yapping nonstop, as usual when we have alone time. The lake was gorgeous, with the sun brushing the waves of water each time it poked its rays out from behind a few clouds. We swayed back and forth in the boat, and enjoyed the warmth and scerenity of the surroundings. I was standing, talking, waving my hands....he stood, whiped out a sparkly, gorgeous, object I recognized as only one thing! Without saying a word, he put my Mojito down for me. Then asked me if I would marry him. YES! I will.
Here are a few images from the moments afterwards, and the calm, quiet, rainy weekend that followed.
The first image of us as an engaged couple. I was so excited, I could barely keep my eyes open! lol.
Landon "Why is your hand over my mouth?"
Maureen "So I can show off my ring!"
It was rainy and cool. We spent a lot of time indoors. Here he is, admiring me. Probably wishing I would quit trying to take pictures of us. haha.
The ring. Vintage, unique, me :)
Landon trying to fish for perch off the pier.
I think he only caught one. Oh well. There is something perfectly wonderful about being alone, outside, in the mist, at the lake.
My fiance.
I love you Landon Tubman :)
